Lions Raft Race In The Spotlight
Our Warehouse Manager has been at it again! Back in March you may of seen Mark completed the Royal British Legion 10K Major Series. If you didn’t, you can check it out here. On Sunday 24th July he took part in the Wellesbourne and Lions Club Charity Lions Raft Race. The 7.5 mile paddle down the River Avon sees teams compete against each other in their self-built rafts from Wasperton to Stratford-upon-Avon.
This year the event’s main beneficiary was the Heart of England Mencap. This local charity provides essential support for adults with learning disabilities in South Warwickshire and Worcestershire. The money raised at the Lions Raft Race will help the charity raise funds to create a fully accessible biking facility in the local community for people with both learning and physical disabilities.
The ‘Orange Haired Boaties’ have raised around £210 so far and placed 32nd out of 50, completing the race in 4 hours 20 minutes and 24 seconds.
