Event branding and theming is key to a successful event. Venue signage, literature and a branded set are the obvious options. But have you considered branded lighting effects? Here are some examples of how a Gobo can illuminate your branding.

If you have never heard of a Gobo the chances are you have probably seen one without even realising.

A Gobo is a stencil that is placed in front of a light source to project a design onto a surface. Although the word Gobo may sound strange, its name is abbreviated from “Goes Before Optics”. They are usually made of either metal or glass and are great for adding a personal touch to any event. There are hundreds of generic designs to choose from including snowflakes, flags, hearts or greetings but for an extra special finishing touch you can have customised Gobos produced featuring a design or logo specific to your brand or event.

We can place Gobos in our static or intelligent moving lighting to project the designs onto key areas in your event space. The size of a Gobo is determined by the type of light you intend to use it in and the team at Istead will be happy to advise on the size needed, based on the effect you wish to create. Gobo costs vary based on whether you choose an ‘off the shelf’ or a custom design. The printing technology used in custom Gobo production is very intricate which can result in a 10 pence sized Gobo costing around £200 however with a little care they are reusable and will last for many years. A regular Istead client has used the same branded logo Gobos at their events for over 10 years. They really do provide a professional feel that your event deserves.

Here are some examples of Gobos we have used for clients recently:
